WASTE, SPORT and HABIT come together for The Fallow Games. Appropriating the wasteland as an adventure playground, recreation space and dangerous play area, Wasteland Twinning Berlin in collaboration with Gabrielle de Vietri hosted a day of urban sporting and appropriation of the city’s wastelands on the Köpi-Brache. With ten stations requiring different skills relating to the site, the event was accompanied by live commentary and interviews by Gabrielle de Vietri and Alex Head.
Wasteland Twinning is a network of independent artists and researchers that offers the potential for cultural comparison to take place on a local and international scale. The network and its online platform examine the often invisible perspectives on power relations, land use, urban development and ecology.
